Take the opportunity to chat with our teachers and staff. They are there to answer your questions and guide you in your daughter’s educational journey.
A small shool with a family atmosphere
A small school is a school with a tight-knit, family-like community. Unlike other institutions with many classes for each grade, at La Villa everybody knows everyone, and the girls grow together, develop self-confidence and build friendships for life.
Peace of mind
Having Kindergarten to grade 11 on the same campus fosters a feeling of belonging in the school. With no entrance exams for Marcelline students, everyone has peace of mind! By registering your daughter, even in grade 5, you can guarantee a place for her in secondary school and avoid the stress of applications and entrance exams.
Our teachers
Our experienced teachers use an interactive approach that fosters interaction and provides a stimulating and caring environment for our students. Each teacher is available one hour per week after school to answer questions and allow students to work in small groups or individually in a stress-free environment.
Support and guidance
Our team also includes dedicated professionals who provide remedial tutoring and psychological support to guide each student and help her thrive. In addition, the VISION program offers the students many opportunities to take part in academic and professional guidance activities like career days, for example
Communication
Collaboration and communication between parents and the school are essential in the success of our students and help to provide them with the support they need. This is done through newsletters, social media pages and meetings with our very dynamic parent association. Parents are also encouraged to get involved in various activities and events organized by the school throughout the year.
International travel, field trips and cultural outings
Cultural outings are an integral part of the school curriculum. From kindergarten to grade 11, students attend a variety of extramural cultural activities (theater, concerts, cultural visits, etc.). At the beginning of each school year from grades 7 to 11, the students take part in a three-day excursion (PEVI: pour un enseignement vivant) in Quebec or Ontario. There are also three international trips organized each year (France, Costa Rica, Germany).
Science
Our science program comes alive in one of our three labs (bio-chemistry, robotics, computer) through projects in pure and applied or health sciences, preparing the students for studies in the best postsecondary science programs.
Languages
English (ESL) is part of the curriculum from grade 1 to grade 11. Students can prepare for the Language Arts exam in grade 11, reaching mother tongue competency. In addition, all students study Spanish from grade 7 to grade 11 and can prepare for the international DELE certificate. In grades 10 and 11, an initiation to German is offered. Students also prepare the Baccalauréat French language exams.
Arts and culture
In addition to the rich program in history and literature, students are encouraged to participate in the theater club, the musical club, as well as creative writing and poetry competitions. Furthermore, La Villa benefits from a 50-year partnership with a music school and students can register for our music option and perfect their instrument playing skills within their curriculum.
Sports
La Villa’s many extra-curricular sports teams have a spot for your daughter! In grades 5 and 6 she can be part of our junior sports teams. In secondary school, she can join the basketball, badminton, volleyball, flag football, hockey or swimming teams, among others, and proudly represent the school in RSEQ tournaments. In our small school, your daughter can make the team and play a leadership role!
PEP programs (personalized study programs -programmes d’études personnalisés)
Students involved in more intensive sports, dance or music programs outside the school can benefit from the PEP program (personalized study program) which allows them to complete the enriched curriculum of La Villa while practicing their sport or activity thanks to an adapted schedule.
A dynamic student life
Students have many ways to get involved at La Villa and in their community! These include the student council (CONSEM), the Marcelline association for social aid (AMAS), volunteering, tutoring, and many others.
